In recent years Internet Explorer 6 has become the browser web designers love to hate. Security issues, JavaScript errors and inexplicable CSS rendering quirks have made it the brunt of many jokes. With IE6 in its twilight and big companies like Google dropping support, it seems like a good time to take a fond look back at our old foe. In this post we’re looking at what Internet Explorer 6 used to be and why its image changed over the years. You can also see the comic in a larger version.
Do we need to review our projects in Internet Explorer 6? Can we stop supporting IE6? If not, how do we handle those users who are still using IE6? And if yes, how can we prompt IE6 users to upgrade? Or how do we convince those who don’t allow their employees to get rid of the legacy browser to upgrade? What do you think? We are looking forward to your opinions in the comments to this post!

Photoshop Keyboard Shortcuts Cheat Sheet (PDF)

Over the last months we released a variety of icon sets, tools and templates, but now we would like to release something a bit different for a change. In this post we are glad to release Photoshop Keyboard Shortcuts, a PDF-file with a handy overview of most useful keyboard shortcuts available in Adobe Photoshop. The cheat sheet was created by Kenneth Setzer and released especially for Smashing Magazine and its readers.
The cheat sheet is a mousepad-sized image featuring a typical PC keyboard. Photoshop’s keyboard shortcuts are listed for each key, with the shortcut and its icon printed on the individual key. In red is the shortcut you will get by hitting the key in combination with the Ctrl key. For example, typing "t" in Photoshop will activate the Type tool, while typing Ctrl+t will allow you to use the Transformation tool. Additional shortcuts requiring more than two keys are listed as well.

Behind the design
As always, here are some insights from the designer herself:
Originally, I intended to buy a keyboard overlay with Photoshop shortcuts, but couldn’t find any for a PC, just for Macs. So I compiled a list of keyboard shortcuts, and thought they would fit nicely on a mousepad. I think printing it out and hanging it by the monitor works just as well. I hope those learning Photoshop will find it useful, as well as the more advanced users who may have forgotten some of the less-often-used shortcuts. They save a lot of time, and can impress your boss!

SimpleFolio: A Free Clean Portfolio WordPress Theme

SimpleFolio is a portfolio theme that includes a blog and a very extensive option page that allows you to exclude all your portfolio items from the blog page. It also includes a front page slider.

Goodbye 2009. Hello 2010!

After looking at the chart below, we can honestly say that we are proud of the way we developed this project and still continue doing this day by day. Besides our sales growth we have a lot of other things we are proud of and here are some other big achievements of this year:
• Changing our direction to developing Premium Themes
• Redesigning our website in a professional way.
2009 Highlights
But let’s take a look back at important events of 2009 and see what happened:
February, 24 – We released our first theme – Yamidoo Magazine. And this theme seems to be a big success, being our most popular theme so far.
May, 8 – Three months after first released theme, Zenko Magazine has appeared – a new born theme presented by WPZOOM.
July, 1 – WPZOOM has been redesigned to a new professional look, Dumitru joined our team, and two new themes have been released.
July – December – We developed new themes, and now we offer 13 nicely designed Themes, 2 of which are FREE!
What’s new in 2010?
2010 is almost here, and we don’t want to set any important goals for the next year, because we have a lot of unfinished tasks from 2009, like developing new themes, updating old themes with new features and much more!

Among the usual data that can also be provided by Google Analytics, this tool allows us to initiate a live chat with any of our visitors, as long as they have javascript enabled in their browser. Pretty cool if you want to really surprise your visitors
